delete key on the macbook / pro

Switchers form Windows to OS X get often frustrated by the lack of the delete key (forward delete) on the macbook/ macbook pro keyboard.

But hey, there it is!
You can’t see it? Well, there are a lot of glyphs that aren’t printed on the keyboard…
But this one is even not documented.

It’s: fn + backspace

tested only on leopard.

  1. Thats good to know. The one key im also constantly missing is the Insert key. Any idea where it can be found? I remember trying once with the NumKock, but could find the key… Anyhow, insights are very welcomed.

  2. If you use the big mac keyboard you have a help key instead of insert. If you are in command line yoyu can use this button to switch the insert mode. But i don’t think that there is this function on the macbook keyboard. anyway, select the text and write …
