Java 6 for 32 bit Intel Mac, Power Pc and OS X 10.4

Categorie: Tech — Tags: , , , — bise, 6:06 pm

The last Java 6 update by apple only runs on intel macs with 64 bit processors (core 2 duo) and OS 10.5 intalled. Developers working on a 32 bit mac could check this open source project: http://landonf.bikemonkey.org/static/soylatte

” SoyLatte is a functional, X11-based port of the FreeBSD Java 1.6 patchset to Mac OS X Intel machines. SoyLatte is initially focused on supporting Java 6 development; however, the long-term view far more captivating: open development of Java 7 for Mac OS X, with a release available in concert with the official Sun release, supported on all recent versions of Mac OS X.” (from the proct website)

User simply shoudn’t care at all… And as long as eclipse and processing dont’t run on 64 bit, i do not care either.
