return key to open a file in finder

Categorie: Tech — Tags: , , , , — Bise, 1:53 pm

just as a quick note:

I really like the ability to browse my hard disk with the os x finder in column view via arrow keys. But what s really annoying: you can’t open a file with the enter key. Instead, this key is allocated with the functionality to rename the specific file. So what you can do is to hit the combination command+o or use this little app:

EDIT: After using ReturnOpen for a day now, I have to write about one big flaw: If you actually want to rename a file in the finder and hit enter to confirm the new name, you’ll also open the file with the assigned program :( So I stay with command + o finally.

Btw, if you want to uninstall ReturnOpen, use this uninstaller: http://www.returnopen.com/ReturnOpenUnInstall.zip
